WHEN YOU’RE AWAY: WEEKLY HOME WATCH BY A LOCAL CARETAKER

Alarms are useful, but they cannot replace the eyes, ears and nose of someone personally looking after your home. A weekly visit can uncover problems an alarm system may never detect, including a leaking roof, burst pipe, faulty refrigerator, furnace puffback, broken sprinkler head, pest infestation or storm damage.

When you come to your North Fork home, the last thing you want to discover is a problem that developed while you were away. North Fork Caretaker visits your home every week and follows up by telephone or email. If we discover an issue, we contact you promptly, send photos when helpful, and, with your approval, can handle many small repairs ourselves. For larger jobs, we can help you locate an appropriate contractor and provide access or oversee the work when needed.


In addition to our weekly home-watch service, North Fork Caretaker customers can use our concierge service for a standard $55/hour, door-to-door. Need groceries stocked, plants watered, a package accepted, a contractor let into your house, your car dropped off for service, or a beach parking permit picked up? We can also help prepare your boat, arrange for cleaning, or handle other local tasks while you are away. We will take care of it.

We can also handle the many small tasks that arise when you own a second home, from overseeing contractors and arranging repairs to accepting deliveries and taking care of other time-consuming local projects. If we cannot handle something ourselves, we can help arrange for someone who can.
